Zeldas: Dancing and Talking, But Not All At Once

Z is for Zeldas,
AKA DT3s.
Code words indeed
Here’s just what it means:

Dance a bit
Talk a bit
Dance a bit more

Talk a bit
Dance a bit
Talk a bit more

One warning
It’s easy to mix it all up
And find that
You dance and you talk all at once
And really to Zelda you keep them apart.
Mixing them up is it’s own separate art.

Yes, You Can!

The clown walks the ring of fire
All is well
Until all is not well, unwell, bad
Sad clown, tears
Down to the bottom…
(hop)
Hint of a smile
hop
And the hint is harder to miss
Hop
Wider still
Hop!
The grin

I did it, I can
All is well

Hop!
Grin
Hop!

Vision

You have eyes in the back of your head.
Well, maybe not eyes,
Eye brains.

Without the eye brains,
The eyes are no use,
And those eye brains
Are in the back of your head.

Look through the eyes on your face
See the world narrow but bright.
Look from the eyes at the back of your head,
Watch from your spine
The world opens up,
Fuller,
Perhaps less precise,
But softer
More welcoming
Easier.
See.

See with the eyes at the back of your head
And your forehead relaxed.

Easy Focus
Easy Vision
Easy
See.

Untensives

Play hard,
Relax,
Ease through a few days.

When a community gathers
for a few untensive days
the whole group relaxes.

Intense, no
Out tense, yes
In play and fun
Untense.

Trust Your Own Knowing

I feel an ache, a pain,
A lightness or a laugh,
My body knows.
I know.

Lying on a sandy beach,
Sun on my face,
I overheat,
My body itches,
Glare prevents me reading my book.
Not good for me.

Lying in a forest hammock,
Breezes rock me,
Comfort swings.
For me, this is good.

For all I know,
The beach feels to you
Like my hammock does to me.

Doesn’t make either of us wrong.

Shape and Stillness

When you look at a statue,
Do you see
The empty space in the crook of the elbow,
The air around which the knee bends?

When the knee straightens
The air moves,
The shape destroyed.

In movement,
We see the path,
The shape eludes our notice.

In stillness,
We see the shape,
The shape of the world.

Our lives.

Rhythm

Walk, stop, run.

Walk, walk, run
Walk, walk, run.

Walk, stop, stop,
Stop, stop, walk.

Run.

Walk.

Stop.

Repeat.

Quiet

In silence, I hear myself.
Still within, and still without
Makes room for depths to emerge.

The single trill of birdsong
Usually makes me smile,
But today, it intrudes.

Bursting in upon the silence
As a siren, blaring at the world
Look out, look out, look out for me.

Hard to hear beneath the world-roar,
The inner voice whispers ‘Hear this’,
And sings the silent widsom song.

Physicality of Grace

Ahhh,
Peace,
Energy,
Flow,
Excitement,
Abundance,
Ease:

Grace

The opposite of stress.

No world outside, no look of beauty,
Grace.

A feeling deep inside
Of being where you are
At peace, with energy,
At home.

A gift you give yourself,
By choosing things that
Bring the gift alive.

A bath, a song, a hike;
A trail ride on your bike;
Lounging at the beach –
For you perhaps, not me.
A laugh, a show, a walk,
A creek, an owl, a pool.

Drink deeply of this grace
And give yourself the gift
Of ease and peace
And flow.

Ahhhh,

Grace.

On Behalf Of

On behalf of the world,
I dance.
On behalf of the world,
I sing.

On behalf of my friends,
And my foes,
I dance.

May the benefits rebound
On all who need care
And love
And ease.

May the benefits touch you.
Yes,
You.
I dance for you, too.
